Buying a Web Domain
As I am a web professional, I would like to give some advice.
A web domain is to a website, as a car title is to a vehicle. Although it is much easier to pay a “web guy” to handle all of your website matters, that is a dangerous practice. Paying a “web guy” to handle all of your website matters including the domain, is like having your mechanic hold onto your car title. He who holds the domain, holds the cards.
To buy a web domain, I like to use GoDaddy.com. They have killer rates, great customer service, and their interface is the best I’ve ever used. The domain points to a DNS, or Name Servers. They look something like this: NS1.EXAMPLE.COM, and you should get at least two of them. Your web guy will know what name servers to use.
Though this project is a little techie/geeky, it’s well worth it.
